Personally, I don't hate his films, a few I might even dare say I adore, I just don't like how similar they all are in tone and overall aesthetics. Even the two stop motion animated pictures, beyond being animated stop motion, have almost the same visual tone as his live actions films, it kind of drives me nuts. I guess it’s good problem to have in that it bothers me he essentially sees all buildings as dollhouses in pop-up books, making the audience both feel small and special.

I just wish he didn’t do this with almost every single film he makes, at least Kubric was always experimenting with different tones.
